Anyone not have to drink the syrup?

For your GD test did anyone else not have to drink the syrup? Mine is in two weeks and the handout they gave me said to eat one regular size candy bar and drink 8oz of OJ exactly one hour before my appt. Just curious if anyone else has not had to drink the yucky syrup and if the results are as accurate?

    That is interesting. I can't imagine that a candy bar and 8oz glass of juice equals the amount of glucose in the drink. I don't know why people call it "yucky". It literally tastes like flat orange pop. People get way too worked up for all that. GL!

    I have a girlfriend who for some reason had a really hard time with finishing the drink. After she did though, the RN told her that if she'd have said something, they'd have just given her a 3 Musketeers to eat instead! She was not happy!

    Wow, I've never heard of that.  I didn't mind the syrup all that much, it wasn't that bad, but I would have loved to have the option to eat a candy bar and drink some OJ instead!
