Transition from bassinet to crib?

If your LO is in a crib has he/she always been in a crib? We right now have ds sleeping in our room in a bassinet and I was just wondering how I go about making the transition from bassinet to crib. TIA

DS slept in a PNP in our room for the first 2 months.  When we transitioned him we didn't do anything special...just put him in the crib in his room instead of the PNP in ours.  He did great from the first night!

DD only slept in bassinet for a week before making the move to the crib.  My advice, just do it!  You and the baby will sleep much better.  The baby doesn't really know the difference because when they cry, you'll still be there.  IMO, the sooner the better.  You want to crib to be a familiar place for them

We moved him at 2 months.  We didn't do anything special, just had to make it completely dark otherwise he wanted to look around (was only in the room for diaper changes at that point).

DD was sleeping in her FP Infant to Toddler rocker for awhile. She also would wind up in bed with me most of the time so she could sleep longer but now she is pretty good in her crib. In the morning ill bring her in bed but i just slowly put her in the crib through the day for naps or at night just to look around and didnt force it. she is in our room bc we dont have a 2nd bedroom right now.

I put DD in her crib for daytime naps very early on so that she would get used it. She never really had a problem sleeping in it, so one night when she was about 1 1/2 months, I decided to try it overnight and she did great! From then on she slept in her crib. I kept the bassinet in our room for a few weeks just in case, but we never used it again and eventually put it away for good.
