It has been 11 days since my d&c and I really want to have sex. I'm am just barely spotting. DH is scared because my OB said no sex for 4 weeks. I need the closeness with him. Everything I've read said it is okay once you stop bleeing, but to take precautions to avoid infection. What to you wonderful ladies think?

I completely agree with you...I hate how everything is in "shades of gray". It just makes me think that there really is no right answer, and they really have no idea what is going on.
I think if you feel that your body is ready, you should go ahead and have sex. Maybe use a condom to be precautionary. Have fun!

I was told no sex for 2 weeks (she told me this before the D&C so I dont think the fact that I had no bleeding had anything to do with her statement). But I had absolutly no bleeding after my D&C and very little during the procedure OB says. She told us to use condoms for at least 2 cycles (didnt want us trying again till after 2 periods).
Personally, I would do as your OB says.... but I am a bit of a wussy w/ stuff like that. I guess I am the "better be safe than sorry" girl. Perhaps use a condon? At least than you wouldn't have the possibility of infection- at least I wouldn't think you would.... but, what do I know???
GL and have fun!
TTC #1 since 7/08 After 3 years, 2 losses, 3 rounds of IUI, and one round of IVF, we finally have our dream come true! DS born 7/30/11
TTC #2 off and on since 7/12
I was told 2 weeks, not 4.
We didn't make it that long.
I agree that it helps the healing to have that level of intimacy with DH.
I'd say go for it!
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
