Im 26wks pregnant and have just read the regular "What to expect when expecting" book and have looked at my local Wal Mart for books on TWIN pregnancy Version and my Store doesn't carry it there.
.I might buy it from the down the mountain from where I live so I know what to expect during the last few months of a multiple pregnancy but so far I have done just fine with having you ladies help me with my questions and my cousin who has 5year old twins has been LOTS of help too!
I haven't read it either and now that I'm almost finished being pregnant, I don' think I'm going to get around to it. I probably should have though, just couldn't get myself to buckle down and read one particular book cover to cover during this pregnancy.
it is NOTHING like WTEWYE --- totally different- and to me, so refreshing to read because it was specifically about what I was going throgh as a pg MoM... not more crap about having just one baby.
obviously- if you had your babies already- there is no reason to read it... but i am VERY glad I read it - i absolutly loved it- and feel that following the advice got me to my scheduled c/s at 38w with two huge babies.
Honestly I didn't even know what the damn thing was about, other than multiples. I especially wouldn't read it now, given the content, but I don't think it would have helped at all. But thats just me. I know a lot of people find it helpful.
I haven't and don't plan to. I know everyone recommends it, but from what I've heard about it, I don't think it's a book I woudl enjoy (seems too uptight and commanding, I'd rather go about my daily life and my OB can tell me if there's a need to worry).

it's really not like that. it's very informative and somewhat scientific. i just found it nice to have a book that was specifically for my situation (triplets more so than twins, since there are other twin books out there.)
My OB GAVE me the book to read, she felt so strongly that her multiples Mom's read it....she gave it to me at my 7 week appointment BEFORE I left, she said that everyone in the medical community felt that it was a must read....so DH read it to me at night...I'm and AVID reader, but had a hard time for the first 13 weeks or so of my pregnancy concentrating! It was cool to read together.
My biggest pet peeve was the food/weight issue she hammers on the whole time. I was given it by a friend who has twins.( who btw, only gained 20lbs and has 2 healthy beautiful girls) I thought it was awful & terrifying and all the information was the complete opposite of what my OB tells me. Especially the weight gain part - there is no humanly possible way I could ever eat even 1/3 of what she suggests I eat daily & what I am supposed to gain for my pre-preg size(50-55lbs!). It freaked me out for a few weeks, I felt like I was a terrible mom-to-be for not stuffing down food 24hrs a day!
I am a worrier by nature and I don't need any books telling me horror stories about moms who's babies where 2lbs because they didn't eat enough during pregnancy, my OB said, don't worry about a number (for weight gain) we just want to see those babies getting bigger ( have u/s at every appt) He made me feel so much better and I have stuck the book way back on the shelf.
Re: Am I the only one?
Well considering your kids are already born I can understand why you wouldn't at this point because it's a book about being pregnant with multiples.
I read it while pregnant and found it useful but to each their own. ?
I have NOT bought it yet...

They arrived at 36 weeks after PTL and bedrest for 14 weeks.
