Oh no - DD is sick AGAIN - could it be a concussion?

I'm so stressed....our daughter is sick again...just what we need this week with my c-section scheduled for Thursday. She just got over strep/swine flu a few weeks ago.

She was totally fine this morning. We took her to World of Bounce and she fell and rolled at the end of one of the big slides, said her whole body and neck hurt, and we get home and she has a 102 temp. Doesn't make any sense....so I'm not sure if it is from falling or if she just got sick again. I'm hoping she is better when she gets up from her nap. I'm going to keep watching her b/c I'm scared she has a concussion. Could it be this...she was totally fine then after the roll/fall she has a temp.

I worked in a pediatric ER as an RN for a while and I actually would see this - kids would fall and then get a fever - its very odd and usually has nothing to do with the fall - I would say keep an eye on her - if she starts vomiting more than 2 times I would call the Dr. - also if she loss conciousness at all I would call your doctor. I hope she feels better!

I don't think a concussion would cause a fever, but the high temperature & neck discomfort (stiffness?) could be signs of an infection.  In light of her recent illness, it would be a good idea to get her to the Dr. asap.

Thanks - I will keep an eye on her. She just woke up from her nap and temp is 100.2. She doesn't seem as dazed and out of it as before, so maybe it was from the fall. I'm hoping....if not we will be getting her to a doctor so we can kick this in the butt ASAP!
