It just keeps getting better....Not.

So my brother is currently living with me and DH until he figures out what he wants to do in life.

Well, This morning he cames downstairs and he is sick. He's been throwing up all night and looks like h*ll warmed over.

I had zero intention to get either flu shots but now with him sick, and the guy at work having h1n1....I'm getting nervous.

My poor parents are a nervous wreck over this and are so afraid that I'm going to get sick. My Dad made me promise that I would listen to the Dr. and do what they recommend, but I just don't know if I can.

 Never in a million years did I ever think I would be afraid of a shot.

I am RIGHT THERE WITH YOU girl....My doc is trying to push the shots on me....and I DEF am not getting H1N1, but I am just really on the fence about the flu shot....just don't know.  I go back on Tue and I know they are going to try to force it on me again....I am just worried about the WHAT IFS.  I think you can get a preservative free one though....and the things I have heard that make me WANT to get it is that it protects the baby for 6 months after birth bc they can't get obviously get it:)

I am so sorry your Brother is sick...i would make him go to the doc or urgent care STAT....keep me posted....you can't go getting sick on us!!

So sorry!  Make him stay in his room!!!!  Lysol the whole house and wash your hands like crazy!  Good luck!

There's not much you can do about your brother or the guy at work right now, unfortunately. The shots take about 2 weeks to confer full immunity. I really think you should get them though to protect yourself and the baby in the future!

I completely understand your fears about getting the shots. I really do. I am still so scared about getting the H1N1 shot. I do know a lot of women that got the regular flu shots when they were pregnant and they are completely fine. If you don't get both, at least get the regular one. Go for the preservative free one if it helps you feel better. The risks we face with getting sick are much more scary for me right now than the risk of the (regular) flu shot. Wash your hands a lot and get the Lysol going so you can disinfect your house.

Can you go somewhere else for a few days while your brother recovers?

Well we live 1,200 miles away from any family so there's no where to go. If he does start to run a fever I will either go to a hotel or send him to one.
