does anyone use crinone? question for you!

hi ladies,

question: how far do you stick the crinone applicator in?

i've been on crinone since the day after my IUI for weeks ago. last night, after i applied it (i stick it ALL the way in, as far as it can go), there was bright red blood on the tip of the applicator when i pulled it out. that freaked me out, since i am pregnant and shouldn't be bleeding. it never developed into a flow--only showed when i pulled the applicator out.

has this happened to anyone? is it because i'm pushing the applicator in too far and it's disturbing something?

I use it. I push it in as far as it goes until I hit the square piece on the applicator. I have not had any bleeding from using it. I hope everything is ok!

me too...... i would call your doctor just to be safe. i can't stand that stuff though! yucky business!

I have been using the 8% pre filled Crinone applicators, and on Monday, the same exact thing happened to me.  I put the applicator in as far as comfortable - like a tampon.  On Mon, I saw bright red blood on it and was a little freaked out.  I assumed that using the Crinone for weeks had simply irritated me, and that was the reason for the blood.  The 2 days following, I had some pretty bad spotting and was really freaked out.  Turned out that the Crinone had caused some irritation and a UTI.  No pregnant woman wants to see blood, but it turns out that this is quite common.  However, for peace of mind, speak with your doc.  I only have about 10 more days left of the progesterone, and my doc gave me a prescription for oral progesterone.  I am not sure if this is because I am near the end of using it (why didn?t they offer that up to begin with - this stuff is nasty).  Maybe you can ask them if that could be an option.
