I nurse in public all the time... But most often I use a nursing cover or my sling/wrap - so that certainly wouldn't make a very exciting photo (LOL). Does NIP imply nursing uncovered to you? I wish I was more comfortable with that - especially as DS gets older and fights the cover more. Seems silly that our culture makes nursing so taboo!
BTW - does anyone remember the drama on Facebook about a year ago when nursing pics were removed by the FB administrators because they were deemed indecent? Hope the bump is more supportive of BFing!

Re: What does NIP mean to you???
I think it means breastfeeding in public, whether that is covered or uncovered. I nurse in the sling quite often, just because it is easier. But i will nurse without it, too. I don't use a blanket or hooter hider or anything--I figure nothing screams "hey, I'm breastfeeding over here!" like a hooter hider.
I had a picture of my daughter feeding my daughter pumped milk in a bottle, and the caption was "Bella feeding Maile a bottle, since Bella said 'I not have milk in my shirt.'" and it was removed by FB. Stupid.

anything out of the house counts, IMO. Even in the car or a dressing room.
Although, to be honest... I'm more comfortable nursing around strangers than most of my family! I still use the "Em needs to eat" excuse around them- but that's partially to have some time to decompress, too.
this is what it means to me as well
goodhearted - that is so messed up re: FB!

Agreed!
NIP to me is nursing any time I'm out of the house. It has nothing to do with cover. To me, nursing in the ladies' lounge at Macy's is NIP. I always used a cover, mostly because I am really modest. Frankly, we NIPed not because we were planning to but because DS got hungry and needed to eat. It became much less of an issue as he got older.
I wish I had some NIP pics to share, but I hardly have any nursing pics.
I told my DH this story, and he said "But yet people can show themselves hussified in a drunken stupor?" How ridiculous. I have seen EXTREMELY revealing pictures of people clubbing on facebook, but a caption that merely mentions breastfeeding is not okay? I want to complain
