Re: CBEFM, thoughts?
Unless you had a lengthy TTC cycle before...I wouldn't invest in the CBEFM. Maybe just some OPKs and try charting.
I've charted and used internet cheapies for opk's the past 4 months. I've decided to bite the bullet and purchased a brand new CBEFM off of ebay this week. You've got to look for the deals on there - I purchased mine for $85.99, which I think is great. The used ones, if they include sticks, can go from anywhere in the $55-90 range. I got two new 30 ct boxes of CBE test sticks to go with it for $9.99 and $13.59 each, as they go for $33 on Amazon.
My advice is to look for auctions that end in the middle of the night as people aren't apt to be awake to bid. I just put my maximum bid in and was pleasantly surprised to find that I won these auctions when I woke up in the morning. Or you can also swoop in at the last minute on auctions if you aren't exceeding your maximum for what you want to spend on it - bid with less than a minute remaining of the auction to get in at the last minute. New monitors average, I'd guess, about $75-115 on there - it really depends on the time of day.
I researched auctions on ebay for about 3 days prior to getting mine so I got an idea of what was considered reasonable. HTH! GL to you!
this is my 4th cycle using cbefm, and no bfp yet. Kind of let down, I have no history of Trouble conceiving..
I bought mine off ebay for cheap like PP.
If I would have known it would be the same as using OPK, I would have stuck with the OPK!
lablori, I was happy to read your post. I used OPK for the first time this month and never saw the positive happy face. My doctor told me that 3-5pm is actually the ideal time, I was POAS at 11am. But either way, I was annoyed about the elusive positive!
I'm planning on getting a CBEFM. Simply because I want more data. I'm a nerdy numbers gal and think its fun to learn all this stuff.
GL to ALL!
There was a post about this a few days ago:

i got mine used off of craigslist. had to google how to reset it. and ordered the sticks from the net.
it made me discover how LATE i was ovulating. i bought internet cheapie opks to double up with during the first few months (since it was second hand).
anyway, i loved mine. ultimately we got pregnant with fertility treatments but it opened my eyes to my cycle (late ovulation and short luteal phase).
i'd recommend it 100%.
??
I have one and I like it, it's very straighforward once it gets to know you.
Do you chart?
