1st Trimester

4 weeks and hard lump/bump in lower abdomen?

ok, this is the weirdest question. first of all, where is your uterus? meaning, if you were to press your tummy, about where would it be? below your belly button, right above your pelvic bone? the reason i ask is because there is something very hard right in the center there, that is causing me some discomfort today. almost feels like the intestine? i have no idea if that is what it is, but it's kind of freaking me out. when i press on it, it almost feels like i need to go to the bathroom? but not really?

has this happened to anyone?

  • I am certainly not a doctor, but it sounds like your uterus is expanding, and perhaps when you're pressing on it; you're hitting your bladder, causing the "bathroom" sensation(?).
  • To find your uterus, make a heart shape with your hands and place them above your pubic bone and between your hip bones.  Is that where the pain is coming from?

hmmm....the hard lump is literally RIGHT above the "vagina" bone, haha. does that make sense?

  • Lymph node is a possibility, I think. I know they're all over the body. I have a hard one on my neck. Been there over a year. Can't see it at least. Lol

Could very well be.  My ute is cramping on and off all day.  It doesn't feel hard exactly, just a little firm.

  • I have a cyst that is painful but according to the ultrasound, it is slowly shrinking.  I can't feel it but I had one once before that I could feel.  My doctor said that the corpus luteum let out an egg(s) and then it became a cyst on my ovary, but it's to the side not the center.  She said sometimes if they are large enough the ovary can fold over on itself and that requires emergency surgery.  I'd call your doctor just to be safe.  That's why they are there.

    Could be your colon.
It kind of does feel like it could be my colon. I get an "urge" whenever I press it.
  • I had a lot of gas and constipation between 4 and 7 weeks.  I felt a hard lump like that too but it was a gas bubble.  Try laying on your left side (it is best for digestion), or try massaging that area and see if it improves.  Seems silly, but it worked for me.  Good luck, and seriously call the doctor if you are worried or it doesn't change.  They are so understanding when you have questions.

Thanks...I actually feel like this may be the problem. I'm drinking a large mug of warm prune juice right now (gag), so I'm hoping I'll feel better in the AM.

    Thanks everyone!

  • i have that hard lump all over...GAS ugh it is soooo bad and it even makes sex uncomfortable...blah it just gets worse  Crying
  • I found that raisins and some multi grain toast work really well too.  Good Luck!
