Re: PG>35 Weekly Check-In: 10/09/09

  • As we all know, I had a CVS yesterday.  I feel fine this morning -- no cramping, no spotting, but I have one heck of an ugly bruise at the injection site!  I still have nausea and am dry heaving.  The sonographer called yesterday afternoon, and she told me that my baby's NT measured only 0.8and that that's a great number!

I also went shopping this past week for empire-waisted shirts.  I am not ready for maternity clothes yet, but I am getting a bit of a bloated belly.

  • Hi! My big news for the week is that it's a girl, Elizabeth Louise (after Mom and MIL) so that name will stick.

I had the amnio on Tuesday and am waiting for the results, which should take a while as I was not given the FISH option. The perinatal center here serves 21 counties of upstate NY and so only does FISH if there is an indication of a problem going in to the amnio. Anyway, we're pretty sure it's a girl, and will find out for sure within the next 11 days..

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

  • Shannon - Please add me to Team Blue!!!

This week was fabulous!!! we got the amnio results back..baby is healthy and a boy. We are very excited. Now that I know the sex I've started shopping around fro bedding that I like so I can start to decide on colors for the nursery.

  • Not too much to report this week.  My regular clothes barely fit anymore, so I've been shopping for maternity clothes.  On Tuesday we go in for the second u/s and blood test for the NT scan.  If they can't determine gender then, I'm going to try to get in for the big u/s either right before or right after Halloween.  We are so excited to find out!!!

Other than that, we're just waiting for the weather to change here (it's in the 90's now) so we can do more outdoor stuff...festivals, craft fairs, corn maze, Disney World, etc.

  • eeek! so excited to see my name inching closer and closer to the top! : )

latest news: baby girl is measuring in the 57th percentile which doc says is perfect (love that word when describing baby). PreE tests all came back fantastic (NO PreE). I failed the 1 hour Glucose (had fruit right before test) but I'm not really worried about passing the 3hour.

  • 38 weeks today!!!  I'm soooo ready to be done but nervous at the same time!  Baby is up to 7 pounds already and I'm gigantic!
  • Can I please be added to the list??  EDD is May 23, 2010   Heart beat today measured 160 bpm and baby is measuring a little a head at 8 weeks exactly.  (I am 7w5d)

    Thanks

  • We're just cruising along at this point.  I feel like the time is slipping away so fast I can hardly stop to enjoy being pregnant. The kids are getting more and more excited every day.

Let me run our names by you now that we've made our "final" decision.

    Girl: Priya Ruth  (pree-yah)

    Boy: Parker Neil

We're keeping them a secret for now,  building up the suspense for the kids.

Hmm. What else - I'm still feeling guilty about only gaining ONE pound. Dr says it's fine - baby is growing, and is apparently just eating away at my weight.  Which, in theory is fine but it doesn't help me not feel guilty.

We also decided on a diaper service which I'm surprisingly excited about as well!  I always just assumed that I would use disposable ones, but when I started weighing out the cost (both financial, and environmental) we decided it was no contest.

Thats it for us for now.  Take care everyone!

  • well, as of our appt last night, I am 1cm dialated and 50% effaced...just trying to tie up some loose ends~!!

My 6yr old niece is coming in from Iowa tomorrow, so my family will spend the weekend together (we only get to see her 1 or 2 times a year).  I think we are going to an apple orchard on Sunday so maybe all the walking around will get this baby to drop!  ;)

  • I had my weekly biophysical profile today as well as a growth measurement this time. My little man weighs an estimated 5lbs5oz! Woo Hoo! He got a 8 out of 8 on the BPP and is growing right on target.

Starting to put the nursery together and did my first load of baby laundry last night. Can't believe we're so close. So excited!

  • I had an appt. on Wed. it went well baby's heartbeat in the 150's. My fetal survey ultrasound is set up for the 30th of Oct. I can't wait. I will be finding out sex of baby, I hope.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

  • Another good week!  I had my 36 week visit & first internal.  Not much going on there yet - 50% effaced, completely closed, but I was expecting that.  The internal was not bad at all - no spotting or cramping after the visit.  My OB did say that she thought Madison was a bit big and ordered an u/s for Monday morning to get a bettter size estimate.  The little bugger has not made her way down yet, so I hope some vigorous walking this weekend will get her moving.  Overall, I feel great.  it was fun to have some new mommas join my water aerobics group this week.  Three of them are due in April and they all remind me of how I felt at that point.  I couldn't imagine having a ginormous belly and everything seemed so far away & unreal at that time.  Now with 3-ish weeks to go, I can't believe how the time literally flew by!  DH & I will be finishing up the last few details in the nursery and hopefully will have washed and put away all the rest of her stuff.  Our bags are packed, car seat bases are installed & we are anxiously awaiting her arrival.

    Have a great weekend everyone!!!

  • Week 36 today.  I think I get my first internal check on Monday. Joy.

Car seat is installed but I want it checked out just to be sure.  Snowed last night and gonna be freezing around here this weekend, so I'm staying in my igloo!

  • Well, as I posted earlier, I hit my 35/35 milestone today!

Tuesday we had a growth scan at the peri's office - Delaney looks perfect (she's got chubby cheeks and her daddy's full lips!).  As of Tuesday, they estimate her at 4lb, 15 oz - she's just on the small side of normal (just under the 50th percentile).  Still being monitored for pre-eclamsia - don't have it but they want to keep it that way.  Still on modified bed rest and will have to submit another 24 hour urine sample at my appointment next week.  We finished the nursery this weekend (finally) and my best friend shipped me 3 boxes full of clothes - she had a little girl last year.  We're all set!

The peri mentioned since they are monitoring me for pre-e, that they probably won't let me go full term and might want to induce me at 38 or 39 weeks.  I'm hoping that's not the case and will do everything I can to keep her in until 40 weeks (as long as she is not in any danger).

  • Hello!  It's so nice to see our new ladies signing in.  I had the last of my monthly appointments this week so now I will go every 2 weeks.  My Doctor says everything is measuring where it should be and I passed my 1 hr glucose test (even with a 8 lb gain this mth, opps).

Also I think we have a name: Vivian Elizabeth

  • Everything's fine here, just moving along.  Crib is delivered tomorrow.
  • Hey all,

Just cruisin' along here. As I posted below I did the hospital tour this week which was good. I also changed to a new username (used to be lebraly for those who missed yesterday).

My shower is tomorrow. It will be a small gathering but I'm excited.

  • Hi again! I had my first doctor's appt. and ultrasound this week. We say a HB and a cute little peanut. Baby's measuring 1 day ahead. I am so thrilled!
  • Doing well.  Ready not to feel exhausted and nauseous.

My first OB appointment is next week.  Have to decide about the NT scan.  Having a quick u/s before my appt - wanted to check heart rate in case it's still hard to find on the doppler.

That's about it for me - Congrats to newly pregnant ladies and GL to anyone nearing the end!

  • Well, we are 36 weeks tomorrow.  Time is still flying by, although I must admit in the past few days I am feeling more and more uncomfortable.  My ankles swell pretty bad by the end of the day and sitting is becoming more and more uncomfortable borderline painful.  Walking has slowed to a crawl.  I am so glad next week is my last week of work and it's a short one too as Monday is Canadian Thanksgiving!

I am having a bit of cramping and low back pain, but no other symptoms so I'm not sure what that all means.  I have my 36 wk appt on Tuesday, so we will see how that goes.

We went to BRU to spend our giftcards the other night.  We now have everything we need for our little man except our highchair (which is being shipped in from another store) and my breast pump.  I couldn't buy it now because of their 45 day return policy.  It could be 40 days before I have this little guy and I plan on renting a pump from the hospital for a couple of weeks, just to make sure I am able to bf and pump before buying one.

  • We received our first baby present this week. My mom & dad returned from Las Vegas with a bib that says "I drink until I pass out". Sooo cute!
    Lilypie Second Birthday tickers
  • My feet and ankles swelled up for the first time this week.

My students are amazed that my belly keeps growing. I catch them staring at it waiting for it to move which is pretty funny.

The baby's room is mostly set. We had a shower last weekend, so we were given many great things, but most of them are in Boston until November 11 when my dad can drive them to us.

Despite the physical discomforts, I love being pregnant.

edited to add-- today we put a new fan and bookcase in the baby's room. They were the last big additions we had. I am feeling more and more ready.
