I'm not sure how many ob/gyn's will accept me because I'm already 30 weeks but I went in to day for a regular checkup and he got all over my case because I had missed an appointment. I wasn't able to reschedule until 2 weeks later because we where having car trouble but he didn't want to hear that.
He proceeds to tell me "well I bet if if were a party you wouldn't have missed it, right?" I kinda laughed it off but that wasn't the end of it. He tells me that I'm not taking care of my baby, that' I'm being irresponsible, and asks me if I even care about this pregnancy! Of course I do, I said but he came back and said "well if you really do, then I don't know where your priorities are!"
I couldn't believe it. I didn't even know what to say to him because I had never been treated by a physician like this. So please recommend your doctor and maybe I'll have better luck. Thanks.
Re: My ob is being a jerk. Please recommend yours.
Who do you go to? I would complain!
I got to Dr. Joseph Garza at Northeast OBGYN's. I didn't want a male at first and he is so far AWSOME. The office is off 35 and Topperwien but there are several office's. And there is also 12 other OB's in that office. Good luck and SORRY that he's being lie that!
Wow... I'm so sorry you're having problems.
If you wanna drive to New Braunfels my doc is Dr. Kevin Blair. He's awesome amazing and I couldn't have asked for better.
Hope things get better for you!
Thanks for your insight!
I go to Dr. Casiano at the Institute for Womens Health.
I see Marissa Largoza at the Methodist Womens Center (or something like that, lol).
She is amazing. SHe is so kind and sweet and very helpful. I always get called back within an hour if I have a question.
First of all, no doctor should ever treat their patients like that. If I were you, I'd call the licensing board on him for such a horrible treatment. That's unacceptable, especially when you're trusting your health AND your baby into his care. For a lot of women at this time in their life, they're looking for encouragement and to know they're taking care OF the priority, ie - your new baby. He needs some severe sensitivity training.
Unfortunately I live in Corpus, but I have the most WONDERFUL OB/GYN. I was kind of skeptical about having a male OB at first because all of my previous ones were women but Dr. Rothschild is nationally acclaimed by his peers and was voted as OB of the Year nationally for 2004 and 2005 (I believe those were the years. It was sometime recent.) Sweetie, there's plenty of OBs out there that I'm sure would take you. When you call, I would tell them your situation and let them know that it's an emergency that you get with a new OB. I'm more than sure that someone will make room for you on their patient list.
Good luck! Kick that ugly doctor to the curb.
