1st Trimester

I have a "prominent sacrum"

I had to get my OB medical records from my old OB to bring to my appointment with my new OB next week.

So I read through the records from my delivery with DD, which ended in an unexpected C-section.  Doctor says that one of the reasons for difficulty in pushing DD out is my "prominent sacrum", which is apparently part of the pelvis.

Ever hear of this before?

  • Never heard of that.  Do you think it means you'll need a repeat c-section?

The dr. who did the c/s told me that he wouldn't deliver me vaginally for the next pregnancy unless i went into labor early and we knew it was a small baby.  So, likely another c/s.

However, I'm going to get an opinion from my new OB anyway.

  • Your sacrum is at the end of your spine (the bottom part).
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • The sacrum is attached to the bottom of you back vertebra(lumbar spine) and then attached to that is your coccix (tail bone). If your sacrum is curved to far towards your stomach it narrows your birth canal. I was told I have this and the doctor said that unless I have a "small" baby, expect a c-section.
