Everybody makes fun of me for me. The spots are in different places everyday and these so much cracks in my tongue. Javier said I could pass as a cat in another life, cause of my tongue and my eyes. WTF.

My co-worker was diagnosed with geographic tongue earlier this year. She really had to modify her diet (no peanut butter, acidic foods, etc.). Whenever it flares up, she shows me. I had never heard of it before she told us about it. So weird.
I hope it clears up for you!

Born with it. It's kinda cool in a gross way- changes to a whiteish color if I start to get sick. So if I feel under the weather I look at my tounge and know its time to chill out.
Yep, I have it. Never been told I needed to worry about it though! I also haven't really noticed a difference during my pregnancy, but then I don't pay that much attention to it.
When I read this I didn't even know what it was...until I Googled it. The first photo I saw in Wiki looks almost exactly how my own tongue looks at the moment...but it didn't start to look that way until pregnancy.
How weird...I didn't know there was a name for it.
I don't think mine is related to alergies as I don't have any for the most part, however, I think pregnancy (with the hormonal changes) and diet have a huge role to play.
just butting in only cuz i'm a registered dental hygienist and my husband has it. geographic tongue is like small areas of your tongue is missing that whitish coating on top, and that area is red in color. the spots move around and migrate so the tongue never looks the same. some people experience pain when they eat spicy, acidic or hot foods, other people don't. many people with geographic tongue also has skin problems like psoriasis (not all).
I've learned in school that cause of geographic tongue is unknown, and if you are noticing the symptoms of geographic tongue right now, then you were most likely born with it but it was just a mild case so you never knew you had it since the symptoms can worsen during pregnancy.
I too have it, and it only bothers me when I eat acidic foods and then it cracks. But since being pregnant the appearance of my tongue has changed but it isn't anymore sensitive.
OMG! This is so crazy that you posted something about this because I've been complaining about this all week! My tongue hurts so bad and it's getting worse & worse. I wondered if it was due to the pregnancy. So now I know I'm not the only one!
Re: Anyone else have geographic tongue?
I've had it since I was like 3?

Hahahaha. I love that it's got a .org. I guess this is a bigger problem for people than it is for me!
