Those PG, what do you call your babies?

How do you refer to one over the other?  Do you call them by name, if they're b/g do you say "the boy" or "the girl", by their letters (A and B), "this one", other?  I always call them by letter.  We're pretty sure we have names picked out, but don't know which one will end up with which name, and they're both boys, so that's the best way we can describe which one is doing what.

Re: Those PG, what do you call your babies?

  • We call them babies and then baby A and baby B.

My mom calls them Jacobettes (something biblical I think).   And, she keeps practically grabbing my crotch when she sees me to 'say hi to the Jacobettes'.  I was like, mom...you're grabbing my crotch practically and she said, well I know they're low.  UGH!  So I've asked her to just grab my fat roll a little higher please.

  • When referring to them to others (i.e. my family, Dh's family, friends, strangers), I use letters (we have two girls). DH and I didn't want to share names till after they are born. If referring to the twins to DH, I use the names we selected.

  • We've just been calling them 'the babies' but since we found out last week that its a boy and a girl I'll call them 'girl baby' and 'boy baby'. I think once we pick names we will use those between us, but continue with 'girl baby' and 'boy baby' when around others.

  • I usually just call them my little monkeys; it fits since that's our nursery theme.  Since it's still early for me and we don't know what we're having yet, I don't really need to differentiate between one or the other.

I do refer to them as A & B when relating details of my ultrasounds, but even that doesn't make total sense to me since they might "switch" in-between - last U/S they were both dead even so the doctors couldn't even tell which was A and which was B.

  • when i was pg with Griffin we called him "Schmaby" - it was truly his name- and hard to quit saying after he was born!

when i was pg with the twins they were just "the babies" or "Baby A and Baby B"... or "Leftie and Rightie" - we never "named" them... and never called them by their real names, because we didn't share those with others and didn't want to slip- and i also just felt funny doing that- like it would jinx me.

  • We call them Baby A and Baby B, though I often wonder if they have switched places.  We also refer to them as the little appleseeds, even though they are much bigger than that now, because that is how big the website said they were when we first found out.  One of the babies future Godmothers calls them the gummie bears because that is what they looked like on the first ultrasound she saw.
  • We call them A and B.  We have her name but not a name or him so we just decided to stick with A and B until we have names for both -- which is starting to look like after they are born at the rate we are going.

  • We called ours Alistair and Boots.  No idea why...just wanted an "A" name and a "B" name.  We were so stuck on them we were convinced that no matter what we actually named them we'd always call them that.  Amazingly, we never did!

  • We always call them the babies or the twinnies.  Now that we named them, I have been trying to use their names more.

  • My girls have names already but we don't want to tell anyone until they are born, so to prevent slipups DH and I still call them A and B.

Although sometimes A is 'twinkle toes' because she moves her little feet like crazy anytime I eat anything cold :) I think her toes are near my stomach and she gets cold toes!

  • We always called them A and B - here is a picture of their Christmas stockings from last year:

  • Baby A and Baby B. We know the sexes but are keeping them a secret so it's easier to refer to them as A and B

  • Usually just "The Babies". Sometimes Baby A and Baby B. We haven't picked names yet...it's harder this time around!

My dad started calling them X and Y (after finding out we were having a boy and a girl, LOL).

  • well, since we don't know the sexes yet and I can't feel movement yet, we are referring to them as the weebles - as in weeble wobbles ("weebles wobble but they don't fall down" - we figured it was a good metaphor for their resilience!).

  • we call them by their names actually!
  •  I'd like to come with some type of nickname for them, but nothing has really stuck yet. And we don't have names picked either, so right now we're just calling them, "the babies," or individually "the boy"/"the girl."

  • We called them itty and bitty...or A and B...Itty was A and bitty was B...we kept their names secret until they were born so taht we didn't have to listen to unsolicited advice from family and friends....well, my friends and co-workers knew their names! :)
