We're probably just getting LO a couple books and some savings bonds. Our family will bombard us with enough other stuff that it doesn't really matter.
Go ahead and buy some toys for the baby to enjoy later on up until 1 yr. Soft blocks (cloth and the squeaky kind) are always great. Egg shakers. FP has a cute little fish bowl with rattle fish that DD loved. Different balls with varying shapes and textures are good. Rattles and other handheld toys. Maybe some bath toys to enjoy later on. Books are always great, particularly board books.
DD will be 5 months, and DH and I really don't plan to buy her much at all. She's not going to remember it, and she's not even old enough to enjoy opening the presents.
We're just going to buy the remaining big items that we need -- jogging stroller, high chair, and say they're from her.
We'll probably buy a few small things -- books, clothes in the next sizes up, etc.
Her grandparents (well, grandmothers) are going to go insane, despite the fact that I have told them not to, so she won't lack for presents.
Jumperoo (loves it!) Brightly colored board books Sassy rattles/rings His Bumbo Bob the Builder (I know, absentee parenting at it's best...)
His name is Mason...of course he's going to love bob the builder!! Love the name Mason. It's unique yet not silly/stupid!
LOL. I'm not going to lie- I never got the association until you just mentioned it. Hilarious!
We love his name, too. We wanted something that is old/classic, but still unique. Mason is an old name but not around as much as James or Mathew, etc. We're going to have a hard time coming up with a 2nd boys name if we have to!
ETA: Just saw you LO's name is Max. Max was one of our final three contenders, btw!

this, only DS, and he'll be 4.5 months. whatever he needs, we'll get, but he'll get a lot from family.
I'll probably buy him some books, and maybe a rattle or some other little toys like that. Grandma and Grandpa are buying him an exersaucer, and my MIL is making him (another) quilt. (The original quilt she made him is darn near a work of art, so she's making him a flannel one for everyday use that won't get ruined by being on the floor.)
thanks ladies, I know our family will go crazy as well, but I just wanted a few ideas for toys and the like. I probably will get a little bit of kitchenware as well so she can begin her solids at 4-5 months and we won't go scrambling for things.
Re: what to get a 3 month old for xmas
DD -- 5YO
DS -- 3YO
