I'm in a baking mood. DD is my little kitchen helper. She LOVES to cook. So we're going to bake this weekend. I was thinking pumpkin whoopie pies with cream cheese filling, but H has requested carrot cake. So maybe we'll make cupcakes instead.
What are your favorites? I did find that apple crisp is not a kid-friendly recipe. The peeling and chopping of apples I had to do... and then there was a tantrum over my placing a fork in the bowl to cream together the butter and dry ingredients. DD couldn't do the creaming, but didn't want my help. I won't attempt that again soon.
Re: Favorite Fall items to bake with DCs?
I like to make pumpkin chocolate chip cookies - I want to try this recipe:

Jackson frosting them would be a giant mess, but he'd probably enjoy it.
I made these last week and they were a HUGE hit. I've been instructed to make them again on Tuesday for my mom's birthday.
I made those a couple weeks ago. Honestly, I think this recipe is much better and it's the same thing. You can add chocolate chips if you want, and for the frosting just use maple flavoring instead of vanilla if you like.
I was going to say apple crisp. I have one of those corer/peeler things for the apples and dd got a huge kick out of that.
I have some tiny leaf cookie cutters, and we made pies one day and I let her cut the dough into leaves for the top and the leftovers to bake with a little cinnamon/sugar for snacking.
You could make caramel apple dip. SO good!
I am planning on making these monster cupcakes with her closer to Halloween. They look really fun!
