Pregnant after 35

Does sugar make you LO move more?

Today is my boss' birthday so several of us brought goodies.  Of course everything was sweet and of course I had 1 of each.  A chocolate chip cookie, a brownie and a piece of chocolate cake with chocolate cool whip icing.  Yum!

I hadn't had any breakfast so I was hungry and didn't have any better choices.  Yeah, I'm rationalizing. :)

But, I expected LO to be all over the place.  Nope.  I guess sugar can have the opposite affect huh?

Oh, the brownie was small and so was the piece of cake. :)  I didn't want to sound like SUCH a pig! lol

Re: Does sugar make you LO move more?

  • Everything I eat makes my LO move.  He is a kicking machine!

  • I am at the point where it doesn't matter if I eat or don't eat..my LO is constantly moving. It is hard to go to sleep at night!

  • Not so much sugary foods, since that takes a little bit of breaking down to digest.  But WHOA NELLY on any kind of juice!   Especially apple juice.   Kid becomes a Rockette in less than a 1/2 hour or so.

  • I haven't felt #2 move yet in this pregnancy, but with Benjamin, sugar didn't seem to really make much difference.

I found him to be the most active when I was least active (and also when I was not eating, etc.).

His busiest time of day seemed to always be in the just-before-bedtime hours, like 8-10pm

  • I find that this LO is busiest after a full meal - she seems to like a protein/carb combo. Sugary snacks don't do as much, although anything with caffeine will get a kick or two.

It's funny, because if I put sugar into my 3.8 yo, he's all over the place. Not so much for baby..
