Need ideas on nursery paint colors

Hello,

I'm usually on 3rd tri, and occasionally lurk elsewhere, but I wanted to ask you ladies a question regarding our nursery that I'll be painting next week.

The room is themed around our bedding set: Eddie Bauer's Enchanted Hollow. I hope my clicky link works for the bedding, seen here

The room is a smaller room, about 8x10 or so, and has dark honey colored hardwood floors. A large double window takes up large portion of one wall, so the room gets a lot of sunlight. My question is, what color/s to do the walls? My ideas so far have been 1) one neutral color, a tan, on all four walls 2) two tone walls- the tan on the top half of the walls, a darker khaki-green on the bottom, with a chair rail installed 3) either of those two options, with a large tree painted onto one wall/corner.

What do you think? I want something that will be rustic and lodge-y looking, not as much baby looking. This way, it'll be easier for him to grow into the room and I won't have as much to change/repaint when he gets older.

Thanks so much!

Re: Need ideas on nursery paint colors

  • Our walls are a very pale/muted sage (kind of olive undertones) and I considered this set.   I found sets that had dark green looked great with our color (Willow Wind by Valspar @ Lowe's).

  • I like the idea of a more neutral tan.  2 tone in a small space might shrink the room a bit.

  • I think an olive green would look great.

  • I think the tan walls with a tree painted or decal would be really cute.  Or olive green walls with a solid brown tree.  We haven't decided on a bedding set but I really want to get a cute tree decal from etsy!
