We'll be starting the twins on rice cereal this weekend - they turn 4mo next week and have their pedi appt- and he likes to know how they are doing with their first few days of solids, so we need to start in a few days.
i'm debating what time of day to do it... i guess it doesn't really make a difference when - but when did you do it? any reasons why that time?
I'm thinking mid- day because Griffin will be napping and we can give the twins more attention... but part of me wants to do it in the evening so when i go back to work in Nov I won't miss that time with them during the day... but it's only 2-3 days/week i'll be working- so maybe i can deal with that... ahhh... decisions. ![]()
Re: When you first started with rice cereal - what time?
we did it in the evening, two hours before bed time.
that way she wasn't rushed or tired.
This. I was doing it at around 7 before bath, but it was not working. He was too tired!
We do it 1hr after his first morning bottle. I have also heard to introduce new foods in the morning so you can watch for a reaction (if they have one) and get appropriate medical attention.
I do a small serving now at dinner time as well.
This is what we were told today also.
We are going to start them next week too. Their 4 month appt and birthday! is tomorrow.
We will most likely do it at night at first or wait for the following weekend during the day now that I'm back at work.
