Thankfully, I am back home and doing ok, but I was in labor and delivery from 4:00 on Tuesday afternoon until about 9:00 this morning (Wednesday). I didn't want to go at all but I called my doctor's office back because the "cramps" I was having weren't going away.
Imagine how shocked I was when they hooked me up to a monitor and told me I was having contractions every two minutes. It didn't take long for them to admit me and that's where I stayed all night. They finally got my contractions stopped around 3:00 am and then discharged me by about 10:00 am.
Horrible, horrible experience. They don't know if my uterus was irritable because of my UTI or if it was because I was dehydrated or if it was brought on by my fibroids. But if you experience ANY pain at all, it is always best to err on the side of caution. Once I realized what the contractions actually were, I realized I have been having them since Sunday night! Ugh.
Thoughts and prayers please that the LO now understands to stay put for another two months - at least! I am taking it easy of course. Not on full bed rest... yet. But my DH has me on "house arrest". Fine by me.
I will be back tomorrow to read the posts. I see some other interesting stuff is going on...

Re: my labor and delivery stay :(
Oh Dana - that must have been so frightening for you and DH! I'm so glad you home now and all is okay. Definitely a lesson for all of us to listen to our bodies.
Attention Dana's LO - stop scaring your mama! I know you may be anxious to get out and explore the world, but you need to stay put for the next two months!
Thanks everybody. Just home resting today. And who knows how many more days I will be doing the same exact thing. My next appointment is Wednesday with my OB. I am just hoping for no surprises at all this week!
OMG how scary!! I'm glad everything is OK now though.
I actually had something a little less dramatic but similar happen. I went to my appt last week and told the doc that several days prior I was experiencing these sharp shooting bursts of cramps that lasted like 30 minutes. He wanted to do an internal and hook me up to a monitor just in case, too. Fortunately for me, at that time at least, I wasn't experiencing any kind of contractions so he thinks it was just dehydration or something but yeah, he told me that many women just entering 3rd tri don't even know when they're having contractions and to never hesitate in contacting him...
