Mucus Plug?

Ok, those of you who lost your mucus plug....does this sound like it?

I'm about 2cm dialated and last night I started to get this really thick, slightly blood-streaked discharge that comes out in clumps when I wipe (sorry for being gross and graphic but that's what it looked like).  My DH has my WTEWYE book so he can read the labor and delivery chapter so I can't look it up.  Is that what you had?  I'm totally freaking out....I really might have this baby soon!

It sounds like it could be your MP, but I think I've read it can also regenerate...

That sounds kind of like it, but I didn't have it all come out at once. At around my 39 wk appt. I asked my OB about when I should expect to lose mine, and he said I already had. It had been coming out in little bits but I just thought it was excess discharge (sorry, icky). So I was probably walking around for over 2 weeks without it- not quite the ah-ha moment I was expecting! I had a girlfriend who said it was really clear when hers came out and she went into labor about 1 1/2 wks later. Sending labor dust your way:)

i think you will have your baby sometime in the next 6 weeks, does that help?

Yes, that sounds like it!

I lost mine around 36w and didn't go into labor till 38w6d.  Definitely pack your suitcase but know that the baby might want to cook a little longer

Sounds like it! When mine came out I thought oh hey that must be it (it was not very big) the next I lsot a HUGE piece and continued to lose really big pieces. I lost those the day before i started having contractions at 5 min apart which was 2 days before they decided to induce. Your lo may be coming soon!!

It sounds like it!  If it is mucousy....no matter what color, it is most like the mp.  Mine was like snot at first, then it came out when I was in labor...more like what you are describing.  The day my mp started coming is the day I went into labor.  Could be soon Kathy!!!
