As of today, there is no reason we shouldn't be able to close on our house next month. Our mortgage broker is still being cautious and won't say as much, but H's scores as of today (for all three agencies) are more than high enough to get the financing. There were some mistakes on his reports and they're being taken care of.
We're cautiously optimistic that we'll have the keys in our hands in a few weeks.
FIL went home last night. His inital testing showed signs of heart attack, but follow-up testing was negative. They diagnosed him with "unexplained chest pains" and sent him on his way.
Between a few awesome friends, I'm pretty sure we've been able to find people to watch the kids the two days we need next week. I'm not going to work the following week unless we find alternate care.
Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. I'm having a MUCH better day today. ::knocks on wood::
Re: Things are looking up
He went to the hospital yesterday morning with horrible chest pains. He's okay, it seems.
What a relief! Best of luck, I hope everything pulls through!
MH and I have great credit, but a few months back we each traded in new cars and refinanced our home. 1-2 months later when he tried to apply for a stinkin Lowes card (so he could get 12mos no interest on a large purchase), we were turned down! All of that activity on our credit in a short amt of time I guess had people spooked. Now everything is all back in order, but I do think the economy has people (and banks) skittish.
