sorry, one more H1N1 vaccine: dr recommendation?

Many people have said whether their doctor recommends for or against the H1N1 vaccine- but how did you find out if your doctor recommended it or not? Call, make an appointment? DS isn't due for a well-check until mid-January, but I would like his pedi's opinion on the vaccine.  Just not sure how to get it.  If I call, I'll probably only be able to talk to the nurse, but maybe they'd know the doctor's advice anyways?

Thanks, and sorry for the one-millionth h1n1 question :)

  • It can't hurt to call and make an appt.  My doctor's nurse is fab and she would give me their rec based on the doc's advice.

  • I asked at his checkup in Sept.  I would think if you call the receptionist would probably know if the doctor recommends it or not.  It is probably a common question.

  • Call and ask.  His nurse probably has a spiel she could recite in her sleep on the topic.  Opinions vary so take it with a grain of salt and make the decision for yourself and your child.  I know when I called DS's pedi about whether or not to start tamiflu his nurse was very well versed on the topic and is helping field all the calls.

  • Definitely call. I'm lucky and I occasionally see DS's ped at work when she comes in to see her newborns. So, I talked to her at that point. Smile GL!
