Parenting after a Loss

Tell me about teething

I didn't think Cora would start teething until 6 months but she already has 4 teeth coming in! This would explain why she went from sleeping 6-8 hours at night to now sleeping 3-4 and then getting up every 1-2 hours needing to be rocked back to sleep. So does the discomfort at night ever get better? Will she STTN when she starts to feel better? I just started back at work yesterday and we are exhausted! What else do I have to look forward to with the teething?

Re: Tell me about teething

  • For us teething happens in spurt we will have a couple crappy days/nights and then it gets better and then worse then better.

When mine have trouble especially at night we will give them some Motrin to help them with the pain.  We also use lots of cold and regular teethers and the hylands teething tabs.

She should go back to STTN once she is feeling a bit better.

    GL, teething sucks.

  • Eveyr baby seems to handle teething differently. I notice that whenever the teeth break for DD, she seems to get back into her old (good) habits. Hopefully that will be the case for your LO. Motrin & tylenol are DDs best friend during this time. That and Sofie!

  • Teething sucks.  I'm in Molar Hell right now.

We've noticed that DD will be cranky (plus drooling and gnawing on anything she can get her hands on, including my or her fingers) and her sleep will be interrupted off and on for week or two.  Then the teeth will finally break through and she's fine again.  Until it starts over...

Dope her up with Tylenol at bedtime, but since she's so little, I would stay away from Orajel- supposedly it can interfere with their suck ability.
