I tried DS in it that way for the first time today (we've only used it a few times). He seemed to enjoy it. I still have a habit of holding him with one hand though...lol
You can put it on so that your baby is forward facing. I dont know how but I know you can.
I know that putting an infant in an upright position for too long puts undue pressue on there spine and its bad for them but Im not sure about a bigger baby. I dont think that being forward has anything to do with it but I could be wrong on that.
Can be done once they have good strong head control. Make sure you spread the material to the backs of their knees so they are sitting as opposed to dangling (as a pp mentioned - dangling is not good for them). You don't have to retie the moby for forward and rear facing so if LO did get overstimulated with facing out you can just pop them out, turn them around, and put them back in facing you...it's easy once you get the hang of using the wrap. The moby can also be used as a back carrier. It should've come with instructions and diagrams for the different ways to use it. Check their website for PDF instructions/diagrams if you don't have one.
