Installing Convertable seat?

Did you do it yourself or have someone do it? Even with the infant seat, you have someone do it, but we have taken out and moved the base so many times, it kind of defeats the purpose.

Re: Installing Convertable seat?

  • We've always installed our car seats ourselves - infant & convertible. You can always run by the fire dept. to get it checked.

  • Bif did it, and then showed me how.  It's easy with the latch system
  • We installed both ourselves. Ditto Speed--if you have the latch system, it's super easy. DH doesn't have it since his car is older, and it took longer, but he was still able to do it himself just fine. (that was for the infant seat--he still uses it in his car, and the convertible is in my car..but I'd assume the installation would be similar).

  • We did the convertible ourselves.

BTW I love your new siggy!

  • Ok. My car does not have LATCH. It is older than old. I really want to install this week, but DH is super busy, and I read the manual and it was like reading a different language.

  • My car doesn't have latch, I tried to install it and it did not go well. Huh? DH was able to do it, but he has a lot of experience installing seats. I never plan on moving it!

I think if you attempt to install it and then take it to a location they can check it for you (which isn't really helpful if you're trying to do it without DH and have J with you).  Although according to this site there's nothing close to WF/N. Raleigh. You might be able to get someone from the WF Police or Fire Dept to help.
