Wall letters

Greetings Ladies,

I recently put up letters in my daughters nursery, but they keep falling off. I used double sided tape, but it just isn't sticking tot he wall. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can use to keep the letters on the wall!

Thanks Ladies

Re: Wall letters

  • What type of double-sided tape did you use?

We were advised by the vendor who sold us our letters to use "mounting tape"--which is double stick foam tape. It is especially for wall-mounted pictures and decorations. Is that what you used?

The kind we bought is made by 3M.

  • Cute letters!!

I can't tell from looking at the picture...Did you nail through the letters to the wall? Or was there a some way on the back of the letters to hang on the nail?

I noticed that the ones from potterybarnkids, for example, have a notch in back so that the letters can be hung by names and be flush with the wall.

Our letters do not have anything on the back letter.

I have similar letter as the above poster, just not painted as cute as hers.  The letters I bought had routed out holes to hang the letter on nails.  Another thing we did with another wooden piece we have is just bought a small nail in picture hanger and hung the piece on a nail.

  • It was very difficult and time consuming but there were notches on the back of the letters so I made paper templates and hung them from the back with nails. I honestly never thought of using double sided tape or anything like that for fear of falling. These sit flush to the wall.
