Mobiles

Do most mobiles still fit on the 3 in 1 convertible cribs?  I've heard some don't, and was wondering if anyone knows.  I have a Munire Urban crib and wanted to bid on a mobile on eBay but am unsure it will actually hook on.  Anyone got any experience?

Re: Mobiles

  • We didn't have any problems with our mobile and convertible crib.

If I were doing it all over again, though, I would buy a mobile that hangs from the ceiling.  That way, it can stay part of the nursery decor even after your LO is sitting up.  You also don't have to worry about it scratching the crib.  The downside would be that a NB wouldn't be able to see it.

  • We have the Munire Newport crib and b/c of the wide slats and large base/top piece of the crip and the way the sides of the crib slope down - there is only 1 place to put the mobile on either side. Luckily the mobile we got also has this plastic crew like mechanism so it does work for us but I don't think many mobiles would.

We bought the Tiny Love Symphony in Motion Mobile and the base looks nothing like what BRU has pictured. https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2331939#

  • Here's what we did... we bought a mobile from BabyGap designed to go on the crib. And we have the Tribeca conversion crib from JCP (wide slats and arc back) and we were able to get it on the side of the crib like the above poster. But we didn't really like how it sat b/c the side of the crib slopes upward slightly. We ended up returning it and having a cute owl/birdie one custom made to hang from the ceiling through etsy. We are hanging it this weekend above the glider in the corner so while I nurse LO can be stimulated by them hanging overhead. We can always move it in front of the window later when LO is a toddler if we want..

    good luck!

  • We have a crib made by Pali and because of the overly thick sides I have to make my own mobile. We looked at a Munire crib but liked the Pali crib alot better. The Munire sides aren't nearly as thick as the Pali sides.

Im in the process of getting everything together now and can't wait to see what it ends up looking like.

We have the Munire Urban and this exact mobile. Ditto what PP said about it working but only in one location on either side of the crib (not on the front or back).

  • We got our mobile from Pottery Barn Kids and have a Romina drop-side crib and the darn thing doesn't fit!

My dad is going to make it fit - he's very handy! Just thought I would mention this in case others were considering a mobile from PBK.

I really love mine, so am going to make it work but wish I knew that they weren't standard.
