Never tried any other brand, but we used Baby's Bliss - simply because that was the sample given to us in one of the hospital classes - and it worked well for us so we never bothered to try another brand.
Boil 1 slice ginger root and
1/8 to 1/2 tsp each (all from seed) dill, coriander, anise, fennel, cardamom, cumin, and caraway in a cup of water for 10 minutes. Cool, strain, and store in fridge.
Some people just use dill seeds or just fennel seeds.
I was thinking of Colic Ease. I could see if DH has time to make it too. thanks. I always kind of dismissed Gripe water as ineffective but lots of poeple on this board seem to like it.

Re: For those who use gripe water..
Baby's Bliss is ok. I like Colic-Ease better.
It's not very hard to DIY:
Boil 1 slice ginger root and 1/8 to 1/2 tsp each (all from seed) dill, coriander, anise, fennel, cardamom, cumin, and caraway in a cup of water for 10 minutes. Cool, strain, and store in fridge.
Some people just use dill seeds or just fennel seeds.

I tried the one they sell at Target, can't remember the name.
It made DD throw up every single time I tried it, so I stopped.
