I'm sure this has been asked before, but I'm new to the 2nd trimester board, and I wanted to ask if anyone has experienced a rash from their rings. I have a dry/itchy patch that has developed on my finger where my rings are. I had to take them off! Just curious... thanks!

Re: Rash from Wedding Rings
This happened to me when I was pregnant with my son. Take your rings off for a while and it will go away. People have told me its from water getting under them when you wash your hands. I don't know, when it happened to me I was pregnant with my son but it hasn't happened again yet. I was also swollen with my son, so the rings got tight, maybe that was my cue to remove them while I still could!
Whoa, dial back the sig pic.
To the OP, yep, I've been fighting with one the past few weeks. I don't believe it is the wetness trapped after washing hands that PP mentioned, since it is only happening on one finger. I wear rings on both ring fingers: my engagement/wedding bands are platinum, my right hand ring is white gold. I only have the rashy dry patch on my left ring finger.

So you're saying we're dirty?

Yes, I had to remove my wedding rings yesterday. I had dry skin below them it was beginning to peel. After removing them, I can see that they were getting to tight on my finger and I am thankful I was able to remove them. I am sure the rings were to tight to allow air flow to my underlying skin, which could had caused a problem. This is my second pregnancy and it happened with my first pregnancy also. I am almost 18 weeks along right now.
My husband and I will be purchasing a simple band for me to wear during the remander of my pregnancy.
This. It's probably eczema. I hear many mom's get this after baby too from washing all the bottles. Take your rings off after you wash your hands and completely dry your fingers. It should keep it from getting worse. And try the plain Aveeno lotion with oatmeal. It has worked miracles for my eczema outbreaks in the past (way better than any prescription cream). GL!
