Inconsiderate boss

Hi ladies,

I am going through something at work and was wondering if any of you can relate.  My boss is behaving as though I am already gone even though I have over 2 months before I start my maternity leave.  He is making decisions regarding my accounts with other co-workers without keeping me in the loop.  I've also received comments like "you would want to go in your situation?"   

Hello, I'm still here!   A little consideration please!!!!!  And yes, I will be back!  I'm pregnant but I'm not a lepper!

That's annoying.  When I was pg with my first, my boss would always say, well when you come back I guess you won't be traveling anymore.  Really?  Why not?  Yeah, give me a few months but a lot of working moms travel, I don't know why she assumed I wouldn't.

Sorry, that bites. My boss is completely ignoring my pregnancy. He asked me the other day if I wanted to go to San Diego (I'm in MD) in early December. Umm, no and I defy you to find an airline that would even take me there at that time.

Since your boss is a male, maybe he just doesn't understand pregnancy & thinks he's being sensitive to your condition.

It might help to talk with him about how pregnancy doesn't affect your ability to handle your usual workload.  You could also be pro-active and suggest a plan for who will handle your accounts when you go on leave.
