Their clothes are definitely WAY expensive. But, if you get there when they have a sale going on you can get some great deals - at the beginning of summer I bought a ton of winter clothes for DS for crazy cheap: $1.99 for a sweater, for example. I never pay full price for their stuff, I only shop when they have stuff on sale.
I know...it's crazy. And it's sad that it's so hard to find cute clothes for boys. You almost have to go to the expensive stores...but they have adorable little girl clothes anywhere and everywhere.
I do like their sale rack and their clothing is good quality so we have picked up some pieces on sale and not. I mean, racoon stuff? How can we resist?
I'm not disgusted. Annoyed because the stuff is so cute! But I figure they have the right to charge whatever they want. I buy it on sale, with a coupon, OR used from the Children's Orchard! Unless I **have** to have it. Then I just suck it up.
Never pay full price for any of their stuff! I guarantee that in less than a month in will be on sale. Also, they always have a 20% coupon in magazines (My sister gives me hers from Better Homes and Gardens).

This. We got DS a winter coat (a REALLY cute one!) for $4.50.
I'm not disgusted...I just don't buy them unless they're on mega-clearance in the back! Overall my rule of thumb is not to buy baby clothes unless they're on sale - and I mean like no more than $10 per item. Most of DD's closet is off the clearance rack. I say most b/c I don't know what other people do when they buy clothes for her.
The only thing going for them is that they have this ADORABLE panda set right now for girls... but I refuse to spend more than $7 on a single onesie that she's just going to puke on. And hello, can they make the stores a little smaller?? They know moms with babies are going to come in with strollers, but there is barely any room to maneuver!
I can't believe how expensive baby clothes are in general... except for Carter's and the discount store brands.
Luckily I live near (but not in!) the most affluent suburb of my city's metro area. Via garage sales, I have obtained many very gently used "designer clothes" for DS for pennies on the dollar!

Like Mrs S. said, Crazy8 has very similar clothes (sister store) but for a lot cheaper. Very cute clothes too! I've never shopped online, so I'll have to check it out.
YES! I went yesterday with a friend who had "gymbucks" - I guess for every $50 you spend you got $25 off. I of course found a cute Christmas dress for DD and it was $42!!!!! Hello....the child will wear it a few times if that. And yes the store is small and the place was packed with moms with strollers - it was overwhelming and crazy...needless to say I left with nothing.
My girlfriend however used her coupon things and spent like $100 on her kids - she swears by their clothes and say they last the longest....who knows. I'll stick to the clearance rack.

I wait til there is a sale + coupon + Gymboree bucks. That's the ONLY way it ends up being worth the money.
It is crazy! I usually shop resale at a local high end consignment shop. However when there are Gymbucks and a sale I will shop there. I also will spend a bit more for clothes I love especially if its for a special ocassion or photo shoot. I agree that boys clothes are hard so I buy stuff if I really love it!

Me. Then again, they are totally NMS. Thankfully. I hate how matchy-matchy they are. Ick.
I do tend to agree with this opinion. You really can't buy some essential pieces and mix and match. Everything is so themed. But I do like the quality and some of the styles. I recently got a few pairs of leggings that are very versatile.
I was shocked that after browsing the sale racks at Gymboree, Baby Gap, and Children's Place, I ended up spending $20 at Children's Place on an outfit of onesie, pants, hoodie, and socks. It was the least expensive of the 3. Right now they are doing 40% off any sale price.
Um, yeah. The Bump be too crazy for pics of my kid.

Why would this matter when they grow out of everything so fast?

The girl clothes are just too cute. I love cats and they have had several cute kitty collections. I never buy their stuff when it first comes out though. Original price is ridiculous, but they go to clearance quickly. The store clearance selection is sometimes limited, but their on-line clearance is great and the price just keeps going down. They also have Gymboree bucks, which are like getting 50% off. And Parenting magazine seems to always 20% coupons in it.

ETA: Cute boy clothing of my taste is seriously lacking so when I love something I go for it.
This. We got DS a winter coat (a REALLY cute one!) for $4.50.
I was coming into this to tell you this...so I'll just *ditto* instead

Their stuff is to die for as well.

I always think this! So true.

Saw this, loved it, tried to think of baby boys to give it to!!!
I'm with you all the way, Chrys.
