Coughing while teething?

DS is getting in 4 teeth at once...*GAWD help me!* and he also has this little chest cough going on. I didn't want to flip out, so I called my mom before calling my pedi (cause moms have no co-pay! LOL) and asked if she had expereinced this before...

She said that babies have a little bit extra mucus when teething and that may be getting into his chest...have any of you had this with your teething LO's? Did it get bad enough to medicate? If not medicine, what did you do? I really don't want to give him any cough medicine if I don't need to...

    Cough medicine isn't recommended for babies anyways, so that probably wouldn't help. The only thing I can really think of is a steamy shower/bathroom to help loosen the mucus.

    Yup, DD had a cough and cold while cutting 4 teeth on top. After they pushed through last week the cough and cold went away. Don't worry!
