Poll: If it is cool where you are

Have you turned on the heat?

*********************************

We haven't yet, it has been nice to snuggle under all the blankets at night and DD seems to be snuggling and staying warm.  It is fine during the day.  It was 67 on the main level this morning, so probably about 63 upstairs.  Burrrr.... :)  But it was very snuggly -- til you had to get out of bed :(

  • Outside has been really cool in the morning and evenings but nice during the day.  DH turned the heat on 2 nights ago, but we turn it off during the day while no one is home.

  • Not yet, but I like the chill and snuggling under the covers even though it sucks to come out.

I feel bad for Jilli the thumb sucker though whose hands are FROZEN when I get her! I need to cut a thumb hole out of a pair of socks and slip them on her before bed. ;)   Or just turn on the heat.

  • Nope, I have not turned the heat on yet.  I try to hold off as long as possible.
  • It's been in the 50's here for the last week or so, but we have not turned the heat on yet.  The house has been staying around 65-69 degrees, so it's not too bad.  I try to hold off on turning the heat on as long as possible, since it's nice to have a bit of a break on our electric bill between cooling & heating seasons!
  • We did the other night when it got below 40 outside!  We only set it to 63 though mainly to keep pipes from freezing.

  • We've been having frost warnings.  Oh yeah, I've got the heat on at night for sure!
promised myself I'd retire when I turned gold, and yet here I am
  • Yup.  Overnight, we have the termostats down to 64. But from 4pm - 7pm, we have the main living at 70.  Then at 7pm, downstairs heat shuts off and the bedrooms heat to 68 until 10pm.

  • In PA it is cold at night (30s) and during the day today it is only suppose to be in the 50s. I turned the heat on 68  three days ago and it will say at 67-68 now. I had to it was too freaking cold!
  • Yes, because DS doesn't leave blankets on and gets cold at night. We've turned it on once so far but I'm pretty sure we'll have it on most of this upcoming week-at least at night.
  • Nope. I think it was 56 in there this morning. We have lots of blankets. I love it! And DD has on her flannel pjs, so we keep warm.

  • Yes the heat has been on several times already. If it's 68 or under in the house, I am too cold, even with sweats on.

However, DH just bought a load of firewood so we've had our wood stove going lately.  The wood stove gets the main part of the house up to 77! It's HEAVEN!!!!!

  • We turned on the heat to test it out, but we keep the house pretty cool even in the winter so it's not "on" yet.
