What would u do???

Okay, DD's schedule has been really messed up the last few days.  I think we mess her up on weekends, because she stays up later with us.  Anyway, today she was fighting her sleep REALLY bad about 6:30, so drove her around in the car (swore I would never do that!).  She has been sleeping since then, and it's 9.  2 1/2 hours in the evening is way too long of a nap for her!  Should I wake her up??  I am scared because it was sooo hard to get her to sleep!  What would u do?????

  • Your DD is so cute!  I love the headband.  Where did you get it?

If you are comfortable with this, I suggest you start a consistent bedtime and stick with it.  It really helps them sleep good at night.  I guess in your scenario, I would just let her sleep and when she wakes up, feed her, change her if necessary and get her back to bed.  Good luck!

  • I never wake a sleeping baby even if it makes me late some where ..... Wherre in missouri are you from?
  • It would depend on her normal bedtime. My LO sleeps around 8 so I would probably not wake him. I would do what PP said about sticking to a bedtime. I know its hard sometimes though

  • Thanks!  Headband is from a festival they have around here....tons of craft stands with good stuff.  Got her lots of headbands and the flower/bow clips to put on them.

She has a really good schedule, usually.  She always takes a bath at 9, goes to bed between 10 and 10:30 every night.  Just the last few days have been different.  Dont' know how to get her BACK on track.  Maybe it's because I gave her an early bath tonight...who knows?

  • st. louis and love the headband your lo is very cute!
  • Maybe she associated the bath with bedtime and went to sleep?  Not sure.  I just found that DD wants to go to bed earlier.  We've been starting her bedtime routine at 7:30 now, vice 8.  Today she slept from 4:40-7, so I thought that I should keep her awake a little bit, assuming she wouldn't go back to sleep after her bedtime routine if I started it at 7:30.  Wrong!  She started crying in the bath, which she never does.  She loves the bath.  So I guess it's a 7:30 bedtime now!

  • DD jumped from a 11 bed time to 8 and it was NOT gradual at all. Maybe she is ready for an earlier bed time. See how she does for you tonight.

  • I would let her sleep, but I NEVER wake DD up when she is sleeping.
