yes, we've been to the pedi, but i need your own personal experiences. no less than 20 minutes after we got home from the pedi after the flu shot, S face planted on the floor, and smacked his teeth & nose. he bled, and his nose & upper lip are still a little swollen.
the pedi said looks like one of his top teeth (which isn't even all the way through yet) got "jammed" and that his gums might get blue or purple in the next few days. i asked about his tooth turning grey and he said "maybe, maybe not but a dentist wouldn't even do anything about it." he bled between his bottom teeth too, but thankfully nothing happened there.
he still won't let me touch his upper lip or nose, and screamed bloody murder when the pedi touched him, but his nose isn't broken, thank God. i swear i cannot turn my back on this kid for a second ![]()
Re: experiences with falling on teeth... help
I had an accident playing softball and lost one of my front teeth, and cracked the rest. The oral surgeon was mad that I didnt call from the ER because in some cases the tooth can be saved right away. In my case that didn't work because I broke my tooth at the root. Luckily the rest just cracked and never died. If it is a permanent tooth they can do a root canal right away to help it, I don't know about baby teeth.
If it were me and my kid I would 100% go to a dentist ASAP. Give him some tylenol to help the pain and calm him down and go see someone. Who knows what they can do.
