So I've been off of b.c. since July after being on it for about 8 years, and the past few months I have been trying to learn how my cycle really works now that everything is back to normal. I have learned that I have about a 32 day cycle and my last A.F. started 9/14. According to the ovulation calculator I should be O'ing around now and I think I have been feeling O pain for the past hour or so. I was wondering what O pain feels like and if it occurs before or during ovulation.
Re: Ovulation Question
Ovulation calculators are a bunch of crap. The only way to really track it is through temping and OPKs

O pain can last anywhere from an hour to a couple of days and is kind of like an achy pain or pinch but it varies with everyone. Have you been using OPK's or tempting that would give you a better idea of when you O and if you actually do O. Take Charge Of You Fertility also will help you learn a lot.
fertilityfriend.com is also the best way to track your cycles.
It can happen anytime.
I usually get a pinchy feeling that lasts a few days starting before O and lasting a few days after.
That's what I'm feeling. I'm planning on buying TCOYF especially because I feel like I have no idea what's going on "down there" because it's been on auto pilot for 8 years. I knew you guys would be able to answer my question! Thanks!
This.
If I went by the ovulation calculators our timing would have always been off. My LP is only 11 days so we would have missed our timing by 3-4 days.
I never get O pain so I can't help there. If you want to know when you are ovulating , I would suggest charting so you can confirm that you are in fact ovulating in the first place. I just got off the pill in June, and I have o'd on days between 16-22 so far- it can just vary from cycle to cycle.
Your calculator might think it's now, but it could very well be next week before you O instead. I just wouldn't try to use that to help you, because you have no way of knowing if it's accurate.
ETA: I second the suggestion about fertilityfriend.com. It's very easy to get started.
Good plan
