The child hates me

okay, I know not really, but when he kicks and screams when I pick him up from daycare or Grammy's because he's having too much fun and doesn't want to leave, it sure feels that way or when I have to do things that he hates like take away his toothbrush after brushing his teeth or *gasp* getting undressed to take a shower, never mind the shower itself.  I'm just feeling sorry for myselfCrying

Re: The child hates me

  • I used to feel the same way when I would pick up DD from daycare and she would cry and scream because she didn't want to leave. She LOVES being over there and playing with all the kids. It used to make me feel so bad. But then...one week MIL was in town and staying with my SIL. She wanted to spend time with DD so she didn't go to daycare that week and I took her over to SILs house instead. It was the opposite...she screamed and cried and clung to me when I would try to drop her off every morning. I learned I would much rather her LOVE where she is during the day then be miserable.

  • My DD loves me in the mornings and hates me in the afternoons.  We have a live in nanny and DD clings to my in the morning and then in the afternoon she is mad when I take her to read.  The only time she is happy to go with me is if she gets to watch sesame street.
