Can you share you recipe/experience making it? I found the one on Martha's website but I am scared that I will screw this up!! I need some inspiration...
I used the Wilton monkey cake pan and then decorated it with the tips that were necessary. I had signed up for a class at Michaels to decorate it and learned that part in one night--you can self-teach as well. Not as hard as I thought it would be at all.
It really got tons of compliments.
For flavor you could do any--but I chose banana for my practice cake--and ended up doing french vanilla for the day of. I also served cupcakes since the cake isn't as large as we needed it to be.
I made the one from the Martha Stewart website. I did make a practice cake first b/c Im not the best cook and all ovens are diff. It turned out great.(it was the monkey head cake) If I can do it, anyone can. DS loved it b/c it was banana's and he loves everything banana. Good luck.
Re: If you have made a monkey bday cake...
