Holy @#$%!!!

So I just got a call from the pharmacy processing D's referral for synagis. He, thankfully, was approved, however our insurance processes that care under our co-insurance/deductible coverage. And each of D's doses cost almost $3k. So am I understanding this correctly that come January when our ins. rolls over, I am immediately going to need to pay my co-insurance in order to continue his Synagis?

  • Hopefuly not you may be able to fight this one.. good luck. I did not have to met my deductible again on mine, but that was five years ago.
  • We had to pay for our part for the new year until we met our deductible.

  • I would fight this.  DS was born in mid Dec., so his NICU stay spanned 2 calendar years, so we had to pay the out-of-pocket 2x.  Right now we are fighting to get his helmet paid for - $3600!  YIKES!  Good luck
  • YOu shouldn't if you met your deductible for last year...at least we didn't have to and let me tell you CIGNA is a pain, so I'm sure they would have squeezed us for every dime they could have.
  • yes my son was born in aug and when the new year rolled around we had to pay our 2k before it would be 'free' again
