Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

What's up with DS's naps the past two days....

Morning nap, great.  Afternoon nap, goes down fine, only sleep 35-45 mins.  Normally sleeps 1-1.5 in the a.m. and another 1.25-1.5 in the afternoon.  Sheesh...  :)

  • Ug, I'm hoping I don't have another messed up afternoon nap today too!  They are such a PITA.  In my case, I think that D is probably having a massive growth spurt.  Maybe your little guy is working on dropping a nap?

I think he's too young for that yet!  Maybe I just need to keep him up a little longer between naps??!?!??  Ugh...

How long does he stay up in between naps?  D stayed up for over 3 hours this morning before his first nap (the longest he's ever gone in the morning!) but this afternoon only made it 2.5 hours.  I would think he'd be able to stay up longer by now.

  • Maybe he is changing to his one nap a day. DS did that. He started taking a long morning and hardley 30 min in the afternoon and pretty soon he just pushed his morning nap back and one was all he needed.

  • He does 3 before 1st nap then 3-3.5 for 2nd nap.  I tried 3 hrs yesterday thinking I was going too long, but he fussed for 20 minutes, then only slept 35.  Today, I did almost 3.5 and he at least slept 45.  He doesn't yawn or rub eyes before that, so I don't think it's too long.  I chose the 3.5 b/c I'm afraid to go longer than that...and with nap/bedtime timing...I get "nervous."
