Babies on the Brain

My story (long..)

I think I've introduced myself on this board but haven't really posted. DH and I were planning to start TTC in December. I started taking my BBT this month and charting it on fertilityfriend just to get in the hang of it. I was concerned in the beginning because it said I hadn't O'ed yet, but then it said that I O'ed on the 19th (which was CD 16) pretty normal I thought. We waited until the 24th to have unprotected sex again (CD 21) which I thought was pretty safe? Well I put my temps in and now it changed my ovulation day to the 26th (CD23). I don't know what to believe now? I'm kind of freaking out. I know we should've done a whole cycle to figure it out...

Now it's saying AF shouldn't come until Oct. 11. My previous cycle started Oct. 4. I usually don't know how many days exactly my cycle is, but I know it usually starts about the same time every month, give or take a couple of days. So I don't know if Oct. 11 is correct?

I feel really dumb right now for believing this thing on the internet! We should've done our research for at least a month! Now it says my intercourse timing was 'good'. Really... it wasn't supposed to be 'good.' Please let me know what you think! Am I preggo maybe? not? Here's my chart..

Re: My story (long..)

  • That link is pulling up a blank page for me. If you O'd late this month, your AF would be later than normal.

Even if we see an O (clear thermal shift) we can't tell if you are PREGNANT. You will have to wait it out and piss on a stick like everyone else.

  • Loading the player...
  • You need to go to this page and get the URL from there to link us to your chart.

  • That link takes you to my chart.

But if you had unprotected sex around the time of O then you could be pregnant.  Nothing to do but wait.

  • That link takes me to my chart for today.  You have to go to Sharing - Homepage Setup and copy the link from there.

  • The link for me didn't work.  Charting is frustrating and at times challenging.  I don't think that I would ever be able to use it to TTA.  I think that you will find that it helps when you actually starting TTC though.

Sorry I can't be more help, since I can't see your chart.  It's not too far until December though, right?

  • So you're upset that you MIGHT be pregnant a few months before you planned? The horror.

    This. And Hmm.

  • Also, if you did the tutorials on fertilityfriend, you would know that it's highly recommended to use other forms of contraceptives (condoms, film, diaphragm...) during your first couple of cycles charting until you get the hang of it and start noticing a pattern if you are TTA.

I know you can't tell if I'm preggo.. I was just wanting opinions on if you think my chart is accurate or not? I don't have much experience in reading them.

  • I agree with your O date based on the limited amount of data in your chart.  Tracking CM would really help.

    Maybe.

  • I think I agree with your chart, but it's hard to say without CM or a few more temps.

If I were charting to avoid, you couldn't pay me enough to count on charting only using temps.  Especially my first go at it.  If you're not pregnant, please use some form of protection next cycle unless you're okay with getting KU.

  • Ok...

    1. You really need to do the tutorials if you haven't already.  You could have O'd on CD 17 or 23 but it's really difficult to come to a conclusion like that with incomplete data--you really should be recording at least your fertile CM as well.

    2. Another recommendation would be to read Taking Charge of Your Fertility.  I'm really not sure you fully understand your body and the process of charting based on your original post.

    3. Get some condoms and use them until you get your groove with charting.

    4. Please lurk.  Preggo is spaghetti sauce.

This---and I think we are all old enough to use big girl words like "pregnant".

  • i went insane when i first started FF---actually its still making me crazy

First off if you are planning on TTC in Dec its just about october now so thats not a bad thing!

read the tutorials i figured id 'wing it' at first and was lost.

do secondary tests. I use ovulation predictors + BBT charting. more accuracy and you will have less 'opps' times

please never.ever.ever. use the word preggo again. since you are new here i will let it slide this time!

  • Why would you rely on only temping for TTA, especially your first time around?  If you aren't pregnant, read TCOYF, which specifically states not to take these types of shortcuts if you are TTA, and has a ton of other useful information.
