NTR: Got a speeding ticket! :( online class to take off points?

Anyone do this? I thought I remember seeing a video at Blockbuster too... how do you do it? I havent looked it up yet but its been so long since Ive gotten a ticket and know that itll take the points off if I take a class, right? Will it reduce the price on the ticket? ( I live in FL if that helps, not sure if every state is different).

It was totally my fault and I was being careless, going 19miles over the limit! DD was not in the car with me. I was in a hurry to get home and see her and DH. Not an excuse, I take all the blame but it totally stinks that the ticket is $240!!!!!!!!!!

I took the online class and it took it off my record and I only had to pay a $90 court cost. This was before my state started using the points system though so I can't help you there.

I dont know anything about points.. I guess they don't do that in Texas.
BUT - I have used www.idrivesafely.com a couple times to get rid of speeding tickets.

You can fight the ticket and go to court. It's pretty common for them to make an offer of reduced fine/ reduced points if you show up in person, then plead guilty. Plus, if the police officer does not show up to court, the ticket will most likely be completely thrown out.

this.  I have the worst friggin luck when it comes to getting speeding tickets.  I've gotten three in the past year - two of which have been removed from my record.  I went to court, pled guilty and they charged me the fine and expunged the ticket from my record so it didn't go on my insurance.  Most of the time they are willing to work with you if you show up on your court date.

But what can I actually "fight" or argue about the ticket? I was speeding, I was wrong.. Id loooove to get a reduced ticket and take the points off but will they really do that if I was truely speeding?

My last ticket was when I lived in FL....I did the online thing.  It was stupid and very simple.  I did it at work during my lunch hour.  I didn't know FL did points, I was just trying to reduce the $ I had to pay.
