Transitioning from breastmilk?

DD is now 10 months and has now become EBF since I lost my job 5 weeks ago. She's only had 1 bottle in that time period (I was only gone for an hour and a half) and did not really take it very well. While I was working she used to take the bottle but after introducing solids (6months) she decreased her intake. The last few months of working she was down to 5-9 oz per day.Pedi said it was since she still nursed all through the night.

Anyhow,I was thinking of transitioning to Engagrow at the 1 year mark instead of cow's milk. But how?!?! She does great with H20 in the sippy cup during meals but won't drink juice.I've tried to give it to her over a course of  a few days then stop and then again a few weeks later.Still no interest. So I know the milk transition will be harder.Any suggestions?

Re: Transitioning from breastmilk?

  • My DD gets bottles of BM at daycare and does fine with them.  As we're transitioning to cow's milk, I'm giving it to her in a straw sippy cup - she won't take a "regular" sippy and I'd like to stop the bottles if at all possible (more parts to wash, lol).  Maybe try that?  I've also found that if I warm it up a little so it's not right out of the fridge she takes it better.  Good luck!
