again...and my regular doctor won't be there next Tuesday when I go for my 39 week so I have to see another one in the practice...so who knows...it's looking like she's extremely comfy in there...I did have some protein in my urine, but my blood pressure was 120/80. I'm so glad she's healthy, but I just wanted to hear that I had made a little progress, even if it was like 1/2 a centimeter...I've been having all these contractions and I am wondering what the heck they are doing if I'm not progressing.
Again I'm really glad she's fine...and I'll gladly let her bake as long as she needs it...but I just feel like my body isn't doing anything
Especially when I see over on the 3rd tri board all these girls who are like 35/36 weeks and they are 1cm dialated, etc. But my doctor did tell me that dialation could come one fast, out of nowhere. So hopefully by next Tuesday I'll have some...I can hope at least.
Re: No progress today...
you probably already know this but dilation means nothing - it's really the effacement (thinning) that really indicates progress - and I bet all those contractions you're having are starting to thin out your cervix.
if Fran gets on here, she'll tell you that she went from like 1 cm dilated to fully dilated in like no time when she was in labor. She was really worried that it would be forever and it wasn't.
hang in there
LOL Sarah! So true...
When I went in to be induced, I was still only fingertip dilated and 50% effaced. By the morning, I was 2cm....by noon, I was 3cm dilated...by 2:00, I was 4cm dilated and then the epidural wore off (for the 2nd time) and I went from 4cm to fully dilated in an hour (an excruciatingly painful hour at that) and then pushed for 30 minutes. I was also a week overdue. Hang in there! Right now, all that matters is that effacement, like Sarah said. Dilation can't happen w/o effacement.
don't be so hard on yourself. everyone is different, and it will happen at different time for everyone. your body is doing what it needs to do for LO. so just relax and *try* to enjoy the ride. ((hugs))
I think I've said it before, but I did the same thing! I was only a fingertip at 39 weeks, and he "gave" me a cm at 40 weeks to make me feel better, lol. When I was in labor (5 days overdue) and got to the hospital, I was only 2 cm, 30 min later I was 3, then 4 came not too much longer after that...I went from 4 to 10 in less than an hour. I pushed 6 times over 3 minutes too. So, don't get discouraged, it can happen in no time
that sweet girl will show when she's ready, I know you're ready, but she will come when she wants
I know you feel discouraged, but it's good that everything is going well!!!
GL!!! not much longer!!!
I know its tough but she will be here before you know it!!
**Progress Dust** for your next appointment!! Keep us posted.
