Was your DC like this w/teething (molars)??

DS is recovering from the flu virus & a touch of bronchitis so I'm sure he's not feeling great but he has been soo cranky & irritable the past couple of days.  He's never been like this.  He will just start whining & crying & nothing soothes him.
I was worried so I took him to pedi today & he could see the top 2 molars coming in and one eye tooth on the bottom.

Can teething be this bad where your DC get's so upset and won't stop crying?  I feel horrible for him.  We are doing tylenol.

Any other tips?

Thanks!

Re: Was your DC like this w/teething (molars)??

  • DS is the exact same way lately. He is usually the happiest baby but not lately. The tiniest thingwill set him off. He is getting 4 molars at once right now so i believe that is the problem. Have you tried Motrin? That seems to work for us.

    Good luck.

  • We typically do motrin at night ( one before bed and one if he wakes up screaming) and tylanol as needed during the day.  I find DS has more issues with teething when he is overtired, and since he has a hard time sleeping at night when his teeth hurt, he is often over tired.  My DS seems to find chewing/sucking on his fingers to help, along with nursing (we do this instead of or in addition to meds at night) and sucking on his paci.
