Hi ladies! Been off the nest for a while and coming back for some advise. My DD is 16 month old is quite the walker/runner. We only bought her 1 pair of shoes (Robeez tredz) and one sandal when she began walking at 12 months. It's time to get her shoes again since her feet has grown. How many pairs of shoes does a 16 month old need? Would you invest in: 1 pair of atheletic shoes (like running shoes), 1 pair of every day dark color shoes (brown or black) and 1 pair of every day light color shoes (pink or white)? We don't really "dress up" for anything (even the holidays!) so I'm not sure about dress shoes either.
How many pairs does your DD/DS own? What would you get?
Re: Shoes: how many pairs for 16 month old?
we have one pair of stride rite dress up sandals in white, one pair of everyday stride rites in brown/pink, and one pair of ugg like boots from target that she insists we put on her feet any time she catches sight of them.
i'd like her to have a pair of converse to give us another everyday option.
My DD has 4 pairs right now, and I'll buy a dress pair for Thanksgiving and xmas (black patent mary janes probably).
She has 1 pair of little boot type shoes (for every day) from Stride Rite, a pair of uggs (purple..super cute!), a pair of Saucony gym shoes (also for every day, but more casual) and a pair of nicer brown suede mary janes with cute flowers on them, also Stride Rite.
He doesn't have any dress shoes. When he gets to the age that he's expected to behave himself in public we may invest in dress shoes, but I don't think anyone expects a toddler to be perfectly and coordinatedly dressed at all times. It's too expensive to keep an entire wardrobe for them when they may outgrow things at any moment.

DS has one pair of shoes that he is about grown out of, but DH puts on him still. And one pair of sneakers for school. I would like to buy him brown shoes towards the end of October to better match his Halloween costume.
so my answer would be 2?
Well, basically 3. He lived in 2 pairs of sandals all summer, but those are done now, so I got him a pair of Rileyroos sneakers and brown loafers. Then I realized that because of their bottoms, those wouldn't hold up well on wet ground, so I bought him another pair of sneakers.
I think boys are easier though. Put a pair of sneakers on them and they're good to go 99% of the time!
