Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Dilemma of sorts...

Okay, I'm so thinking way in advance, but here goes.  The house we're about to move into (renting for one year) has a blue room (for a boy - DS) and a pink room.  That room will be DC#2's room (due in May - we'll move out in November).  Well, if DC#2 is a girl, it's perfect, but if it's a boy, then it's gonna suck!  I don't know if they'll let us paint yet, but I'll ask when we get to that point.

So, my question is...  If DC#2 is a boy, do we just suck it up and DS#2 would have a pink room for a few months OR do we paint the room, if they'll allow us?

Again, I know this is way cart before the horse, but I was just thinking about it.

TIA! Smile

Re: Dilemma of sorts...

  • With your due date being in May, and you saying you'll only be in this house for a year, I would not go through the hassle of repainting for 6 months.  I would suck it up because he certainly won't have any idea...it would all be for you.  Which, if you're willing to go through the pain it is to paint, go for it!  But I wouldn't :)

  • I wouldn't paint.  Not only do I hate painting, but I would hate it even more if I only got to appreciate the work for a few months.  Your DC #2 certainly won't know any better, and won't remember the room anyway.
  • Will the new baby even be in that room for those 6 months? DD slept in our room till she turned 6 months so it wasn't even a concern. We didn't have a room for her until she was 3 months either.

Like PP said. The baby won't know what color their room is so it's really not that big a deal anyway.
