2 have been reported today in the Dallas area, a 14 and 16 year old. The 16 yr old had other health issues but the 14 yr old was told on Friday that she was not that severe for aggressive treatment. She died 2 days later???? Is this happening any where else, I feel like I'm always hearing about it in Texas. This is scaring the crap out of me.
Re: Swine Flu deaths
There have been many cases here in Cincinnati, most with underlying conditions.
I think the swine flu is a big deal, but I wonder if it is being made out to be too big of a deal. I mean, people die from regular flu, but none of that is being broadcasted, so we don't know how many people are dying from that compared to H1N1.
That's true. I would love to see the #'s before I put DD into a bubble, LOL
36,000 people die of the regular flu each year. Please, people, get a grip.
Yeah, actually, there is a lot of info out there about swine flu deaths compared to regular flu deaths. And guess what? FAR more people die as a result of complications from your garden variety flu virus.
The fact that they are normally healthy kids dying is what scares me. I know the media is making it bad but you never know if it really is something huge and they just are not telling us.
I don't think it's far to compare the #'s at this point. The swine flu just started in May, the numbers can still go up drastically.
